Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene.

Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene, also known as ABS, revolutionizes the generator control panel market.

ABS, as it is commonly known, is a high impact, industrial-grade plastic material used in the construction of cabinets for the Panelsourceā„¢ line of generator control panels. This material provides the following characteristics:

  • High impact strength and rigidity
  • Excellent electrical properties
  • Chemical, moisture and weather resistant
  • Maximum working temperature: 185 deg.F
  • Good stress-cracking resistance
  • The tensile strength and rigidity of ABS increase as temperature decreases. ABS resists staining, mineral acids, alkalies, plus oleic and phosphoric acids. Its use is ideal for prototypes, instrument panels and machined parts. Due to its inherent characteristics, ABS provides a cost-effective alternative to metal panels that eventually suffer from corrosion, paint peeling, scratches and shock hazards. Panelsource generator control panels are made with ABS material which is not painted, the color is blended into the raw material at time of manufacture. It therefore, has no possibility of paint peeling or scratching, and due to it being non-metal, it is corrosion-proof and electrically shock-proof.
